Alice Chang (UCLA MBA 1988), CEO of CyberLink Corporation; Frank Chang, department chair and Wintek Chair of Professor of Engineering at UCLA and president-designate of National Chiao Tung University; and Lillian Lih-Rong Wang, associate dean of international affairs and professor at National Taiwan University; joined Chancellor Gene Block and Vice Provost for International Studies and Global Engagement Cindy Fan for a panel discussion on the role and impact of higher education at the UCLA Global Forum in Taipei on Sunday, June 21.

The panel speakers — experts in the fields of education, social science, technology and industry —spoke about recent innovations in research and teaching in their respective fields, as well as the increasing need for disciplines to work together in today’s interconnected world. The panel discussion was followed by a campus update provided by Chancellor Block, a message about local alumni activities from Mark Huang (UCLA PhD 1983), and a lively networking reception.
