The newly established UCLA Global Forum initiative enables the university to reach a broad array of international constituents — including students and alumni, their families, friends of UCLA, and local business and government professionals — in order to build strong networks of UCLA supporters worldwide. The Forums offer participants campus updates, opportunities to learn about issues of local and global significance and networking opportunities.

On Wednesday, August 26, UCLA Chancellor Gene Block hosted the first UCLA Global Forum in the UK in Edinburgh. The event provided local Bruins and friends of UCLA with the unique opportunity to hear Chancellor Block speak on his research with regard to light pollution, our 24/7 society and the disruption of circadian life in the 21st century.
