Biography
Ming Guo, M.D., Ph.D. is the P. Gene and Elaine Smith Chair in Alzheimer’s Disease Research, and a Professor of Neurology and Pharmacology at UCLA School of Medicine. A board-certified neurologist, Dr. Guo sees patients with neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s (AD) and Parkinson’s disease (PD), and does research to find cures for these currently incurable diseases. Her lab was the first worldwide to discover that two Parkinson Disease genes function together to control mitochondrial quality and health. She received numerous prestigious awards nationwide, and is a sought after speaker, both nationally and internationally.
