UCLA Global Forum in Taipei

UCLA alumni and friends joined Chancellor Gene Block and Vice Provost for International Studies and Global Engagement Cindy Fan, for a UCLA Global Forum in Taipei at the Regent Hotel. Dr. Jau Huang spoke on his innovative ideas,“Software Power: Opportunities for Taiwan and UCLA”,which combined technology collaboration, software,  and investment. A networking reception followed the program. The Global Forum connected members of the UCLA global community through networking, campus updates, and talks on issues of global and local importance.

About Jau-Hsiung Huang

Dr. Jau Huang founded CyberLink Corp. in 1996 focusing in the development of multimedia and Internet technologies. He drives and champions the organization’s best practices in delivering innovative video, photo, and audio technologies and cutting-edge software solutions. As of today, CyberLink has developed many products that are shaping the connected digital lifestyle for the enjoyment of the people.

Dr. Huang has been a professor at the computer science department of National Taiwan University, and was a co-founder of the Communications and Multimedia Lab. at NTU. His roles and relationship with both the industry and academia kept him abreast of the latest trends and innovations.

In 2008 Dr. Huang received the Distinguished Alumni Award of National Taiwan University, then the ERSO Award in 2012, and the Distinguished Alumni Award of Dept. of Electrical Engineering, National Taiwan University in 2015.
