WHY: Let’s get Grace Yoo in City Council!  

Yoo can do it! Grace Yoo is a candidate for the upcoming 2020 Los Angeles City Council District
10 campaign. Grace has been a dedicated community advocate looking out for the interests of the
community and at the forefront of legal battles for fair representation. Grace has served on
numerous boards, committees and task forces including serving as the Vice-President of the City of
Los Angeles Department of Transportation Commission. She has spent most of her career
advocating for people and communities to help navigate the legal system and shed light on
governmental bureaucracy.

More than 15 years of Grace’s professional career has been dedicated to empowering citizens as the
Executive Director of both the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) and
the Korean American Coalition (KAC). Grace Yoo is also a certified mediator and works with
community leaders of every community and ethnicity to resolve conflict and tension in the broader
community.

The main difference between volunteers and interns in this campaign is that volunteers can come in
at any time to help out and work on tasks that do not require follow-up, whereas interns who are
accepted will commit to a structured schedule and have more responsibilities. Interns will gain more
hands-on experience that will further their growth in their chosen fields.

Campaign Intern
Position title: Campaign Intern
Name of organization: Grace Yoo for City Council 2020

About the position:
Interns will be working closely with volunteers and voters in support of Grace Yoo’s campaign for
City Council. Interns will gain valuable experience in volunteer management, training and
recruitment, and campaign management. All internships are unpaid.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to managing databases of registered
voters and campaign volunteers, carrying administrative duties, recruiting volunteers, participating in
the execution of our voter contact strategy, which includes door-to-door communication, phone
calls, voter registration, tabling, and visibility.

Age requirement: Must be 16 or older to intern, people of all ages can volunteer.

Time Commitment: 200 hours minimum, ideally 12-20 hours per week.

If you intern for at least 300 hours, you are eligible to receive a letter of recommendation from
Grace Yoo.

Deadline: Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
