Archie Kleingartner is Professor of Management and Public Policy Emeritus at the UCLA Anderson School of Management, and Founding Dean of the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs. He served as Vice President of the ten campus University of California System from 1975-1984. In 1992-93, he served as elected chair of the UCLA Academic Senate.
Professor Kleingartner is the former director of the UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate and is Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Human Resources Round Table (HARRT) which he started in 1986.
Professor Kleingartner’s numerous publications have dealt with such topics as international human resources management, workforce development, cultural policy, management of creative professionals and distance learning. He is co-editor of Comparing Cultural Policy: A Study of Japan and the United States, published in 1999. His current research is focused on the economic and business interactions between the United States and China with a special emphasis on bilateral philanthropy.
