The UCLA Anderson/Real Madrid Sports Executive Experience
John E. Anderson Graduate School of Management
- Beginning in fall 2019, UCLA Anderson’s Center for Media, Entertainment & Sports will host joint educational programs with the Real Madrid Club de Fútbol (Real Madrid CF) and Real Madrid University (Escuela Universitaria Real Madrid Universidad Europea, or EURM UE).

Averroës Lecture Series
International Institute
- The Averroës Lecture Series focuses on Jewish communities living in Muslim lands prior to the 20th century. The program offers quarterly lectures by experts from around the world, publishes an occasional paper series, and culminates in a major conference featuring young scholars engaged in research on the topic.

Diversifying the Classics
College of Letters and Science: Humanities
- Diversifying the Classics promotes the vibrant, Spanish-language theatrical tradition developed on both sides of the Atlantic. The project seeks to foster awareness and appreciation of Hispanic classical theater in Los Angeles and beyond, expanding the canon to include the heritage of US Latino communities.

Housing Justice in Unequal Cities Network
Luskin School of Public Affairs
- The Network will advance research on the interconnected processes related to the precarious nature of housing such as evictions, homelessness and displacement, and plans to study them in tandem with forms of segregation and discrimination.

UCLA Travel Study Programs

Management: International Business Law and Taxation
- This program begins with live and online sessions at UCLA, introducing you to international business law and taxation fundamentals. The course then continues abroad in Barcelona and Madrid – offering students an in-depth understanding of the international business from the legal and tax perspectives.

Spanish: Spanish Language and Culture
- Your journey will begin in Barcelona. Next, you will travel to Madrid to explore the world-famous Prado museum, the Royal Palace, and other historical sites. Finally, once you have eased into Spanish life, you will spend four weeks in Granada focused on intensive language instruction and sightseeing.

Barcelona: The Story of a City, its Art and Cultures
- This program in Barcelona presents a twofold approach to the cultures of Catalonia from the pre-Roman village through the Middle Ages and onto the modern period. We will also study the Barcelona of today, its cultural dynamism, its place in today’s Spain.

- The UCLA Department of Spanish and Portuguese provides a limited number of scholarships for UCLA students who have interest in exploring and understanding new cultures.

Universitat Pompeu Fabra Law School
- UCLA School of Law partners with Universitat Pompeu Fabra Law in Barcelona, Spain to provide a foreign exchange program for their students. While most classes are offered in Spanish or Catalan, students are free to write final examinations in English. Some course offerings include Public International Law and Labor Law.

Projects/Programs

The projects and programs on this map constitute our “global data.” We define global data to be information related to “global topics” such as events, activities, and geographical areas outside of the United States. Any project or program conducted in an area outside of the United States is included on the map, as it speaks to UCLA’s direct engagement with the global community. Even if a project or program is conducted domestically, it is included as long as it engages with one or more global topics.

To collect data for the Projects/Programs map, we survey faculty on their research pursuits. We also explore UCLA websites such as faculty profiles, research centers, and department pages to learn about past and ongoing projects. We periodically review our data, archiving and removing projects and programs that have concluded or expired.
